Professional conversations about growth and change do not have to be ‘hard’ or ‘difficult’.
Hosted on site at Trinity College in Perth, Western Australia, this full day workshop 9.00am - 3.15pm (AWST) will introduce participants to a range of high impact strategies to reframe potentially challenging conversations with colleagues and parents. This course will provide support to empower school leaders and teachers to stop avoiding having those difficult discussions with others within the school community. The course will focus on the following outcomes:
Developing better professional relationships based on honesty and integrity
The challenges with a top-down advice model for adults
Self Determination Theory and motivation
Linking physiological and cognitive responses to ‘change’
Understanding how underlying beliefs about conversations affect our actions
The 5 Key Ingredients for Powerful Dialogue
Improving school culture by establishing protocols for receiving and providing powerful feedback on performance
Assisting school leaders and teachers to adopt high impact strategies to achieve goals and track progress
Nb. This full day course includes additional content to our short course version.

This course is presented by Glenn McLachlan: an innovative educational thought leader and qualified Coach with proven expertise in designing and implementing successful professional learning programs in schools across the world. He is deeply passionate about supporting educators by inspiring teams in schools to build a culture of collective efficacy for all teachers to have a positive impact on student achievement.
He is a dynamic workshop facilitator and engaging international keynote speaker, with over 20 years of coaching and leadership experience to understand the myriad challenges of teaching. He studied coaching at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and trained under Dr Jim Knight from the International Coaching Group. Outside of education, Glenn is also a professional AFL Coach at the Sydney Swans Academy.
